Mercedes-Benz has just placed its latest electric luxury on sale across Australia. It’s the brand-new Mercedes-Benz EQE and it’s being offered in three variants by the German automaker:

  • EQE 300
  • EQE 350 4MATIC
  • Mercedes-AMG EQE 53 4MATIC+

These are designed to be some of Mercedes-Benz’s most sustainable cars to date and are based on the luxurious standard set by the top-of-the-range EQS model. Their price starts at $135,000, before on road costs.

One of the key design features incorporated in the EQE is that it has a drag coefficient of just 0.22 which makes it a very sleek and sustainable design. This also makes this EV quite efficient. Mercedes-Benz puts it as:

ā€œIn keeping with the message of sustainability and efficiency that lies at the heart of Mercedes-EQ, the EQE is one of the world’s most aerodynamic vehicles, with its slippery profile registering a drag coefficient of just 0.22 – second only to the reigning world champion, the EQS (0.20 Cd).ā€

The EQE will be manufactured in Germany for the Australian market. Mercedes-Benz’s Bremen plant where the EQE is produced is set to be a ā€œclimate-neutral productionā€ facility as it takes its electricity exclusively from renewable sources.Ā

Inclusions, specs and features on the models are quite extensive starting with the EQE 300. The entry EQE variant is powered by a rear-mounted motor that produces 180 kW of power and 550 Nm of torque. It can propel the EQE 300 from 0 – 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

This drivetrain is fed by an 89 kWh batter that can offer an NEDC range of 626 km.Ā

This model will be priced at $134,900 (MRLP). This price excludes any on-road costs across different parts of the country.

The next variant in the line-up is the all-wheel drive EQE 350 4Matic which has two motors producing 215 kW of power and 765 Nm of torque. It can do the 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.3 seconds. It offers 590 km of range on the NEDC test cycle.

The EQE 350 4MATIC for $154,900 (MRLP) before any on-road costs.

All models are covered by a Mercedes-Benz five-year unlimited kilometre warranty on the vehicle while the batteries are covered with a 10 years/250,000 km warranty of their own.Ā

All three variants of the Mercedes-Benz EQE are now available to purchase across Australia.
