Dear Editor,
We recently bought a new Jayco Wren, which is a small camper trailer. We ordered solar panels and Jayco agreed to install lithium batteries.
We were happy as we hoped to be off-grid without the need for heaps of gas or electricity.
We found out however, that the only option was an outdated 3-way fridge, which will need either mains power or gas to operate.
We asked for a 12 volt/240 volt fridge instead, so we can use solar power. We were told that they would not provide an environmentally friendly compressor fridge and that we would have to put up with a 3-way fridge.
We are angry that companies in Australia are stopping customers from having environmentally friendly options.
We are very disappointed that we will have either to burn gas when off-grid or we will have to spend more money and time trying to find a company which can convert an outdated 3-way fridge into a compressor fridge.
Cheers,
