Munich headquartered luxury electric vehicle manufacturer Automobili Pininfarina has delivered the first two Battista pure-electric hyper GT cars to customers in North America.
Each Battista hyper GT is a bespoke, “meticulously hand-crafted” hypercar boasting more than 1,874 horsepower and 2,340Nm of torque with a top speed of 350km/h.
Able to accelerate from zero to 100km/h in under 2 seconds – faster than a current Formula One car – the Battista offers 500 kilometres of range on a single charge thanks to its 120kWh battery.
Four electric motors, one at each wheel, are hidden beneath a carbon fibre body. All told, according to Automobili Pininfarina, after production began in July, it took 10 craftspeople more than 1,250 hours to build the first US bespoke Battista.
Meanwhile, the second of the two Battista’s delivered to North America was the Battista Anniversario. The first of five sold to US clients, the Battista Anniversario was unveiled at the world premiere at the Monterey Car Week in 2021.
Reflecting the exclusive technical details of the car, the interior and exterior of the first Battista out the doors are similarly luxurious.
The exterior paintwork was specified by the client to be brushed aluminium painted in a bespoke vibrant red. Matching red brake callipers and centre lock rings contrast with the Impulso wheel rims painted in Gloss Black.
Meanwhile, the interior upholstery is finished in chrome-free leather that has been sustainably tanned by a local Italian supplier, who used the leaves from regional olive tree harvesting.
The GT seats match the outer paint in red luxury leather with black contrast stitching, a theme which is used throughout the interior of the car.
Presumably the specific exterior and interior details of the Battista Anniversario were set in stone at launch, as Automobili Pininfarina doesn’t provide any separate details.
“The team and I are very proud of Automobili Pininfarina’s expansion in the US and the delivery of the first Battista cars stateside,” said Per Svantesson, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina.
“This symbolises our creation of a new luxury electric car segment both in the US and globally. With a passionate collector receiving the first Battista in North America, we see tremendous confidence in this masterpiece of design and technology in this influential community.”
“North America is a very special region for Automobili Pininfarina. The appetite in the community for peerless design and the demand for innovative electric luxury cars means that the majority of the 150 bespoke Battista we handcraft in Italy will be owned by US clients.”
