Actew AGL marks first EVhub customer delivery

A Canberra couple has this week taken delivery of a Hyundai Ioniq 5 from a somewhat unusual source – their energy utility, ActewAGL.

It’s the first EV that the renewable electricity provider has delivered through an online platform that it set up to help customers find the right electric vehicle model to suit their needs and bank balance.

“We were thrilled to be the first to receive a car through the evHub. ActewAGL made it easy to find an EV in Canberra, and we were kept informed every step of the way,” said Mike and Anne, of Griffith.

“We are the first on our street to get an EV, and our neighbours have already popped by to check out our new car. EVs are the future, and we highly recommend the service and vehicle selection through ActewAGL’s evHub.”

The ActewAGL evHub also helps customers finance and maintain their EVs via comprehensive bank of resources and independent articles about EV ownership, public charging information, vehicle supply updates and car reviews.

ActewAGL has also joined forces with Evie Networks to install 70 new electric vehicle charging stations in Canberra as part of a goal to put an EV in one out of four driveways by 2030.

“Canberra already has one of the highest rates of EV ownership in the country, and this trend is likely to continue,” the utility’s group manager for energy transition products, Todd Eagles said in a statement.

“However, we recognise that one of the greatest barriers has been the global shortage of supply.

“That’s why we’re looking for innovative ways to help customers drive an EV sooner – like through the EV ‘find’ services offered through our evHub,” Eagles said.

ActewAGL says it is committed to helping the ACT reach one in four households with an EV by 2030, according to Eagles.

“An extensive, reliable, fast-charging network powered by clean energy will give drivers even more reasons to switch and adopt fast,” he says.
