BMW announced on Wednesday that the upcoming all electric i7 sedan will begin Australian customer deliveries in the fourth quarter, with a price starting from just shy of $300,000.

German luxury automaker BMW officially launched production of the first series-produced fully electric i7 models at its recently modified Dingolfing factory in Germany earlier this month and has followed up with final specifications and pricing.

BMW is launching a mild hybrid 740i alongside the all-electric i7 xDrive60, but it is the fully electric that should garner the greatest attention, with its fifth-generation BMW eDrive technology and dual motors producing 400kW and 745Nm.

The 106kWh battery allows for high-speed DC charging up to 195kW and the ability to add around 170-kilometres in just 10 minutes or can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 34 minutes.

When fully charged, the i7 boasts a range of up to 625km (WLTP) and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds.

With pricing starting from $297,900 (RRP), including GST and LCT but excluding on-road costs, the BMW i7 includes fully automatic doors, a 31.3-inch BMW Theatre Screen, and will come as standard with a third generation BMW Wallbox for charging at home in addition to a complimentary five-year subscription to the Chargefox network.
