Electric carmaker Polestar plans to debut the Polestar 5 electric performance 4-door GT prototype at the Goodwood Festival of Speed event in England on June 23.
Polestar will provide a first look at the Polestar 5 prototype alongside a new high-performance limited-edition Polestar 2 BST edition 270. Also in attendance on the main Polestar stand will be the Polestar Precept, the concept car that is evolving into the Polestar 5, and the company’s electric roadster concept.
The Polestar 5 will make its first appearance in the First Glance Paddock but will also complete several drives up the iconic Goodwood hill throughout the event. “Goodwood is our favourite place to show our cars in an enthusiast environment,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO.
“This year, we are thrilled to showcase Polestar 5 going up the hill! Our UK R&D team is doing an amazing job developing the car, and we are proud to be able to highlight their hard work at this early stage.”
The Goodwood Festival of Speed was also where Polestar debuted its Polestar 1 prototype back in 2018, and the Experimental Polestar 2 in 2021.
Attendees to the event will also be given a chance to take the Polestar 2 for a test drive on a closed route adjacent to the main event area at Molecomb.
Polestar committed to turning its Precept prototype into a production car back in late-2020 and announced in November 2021 that the Precept would be rebranded as the Polestar 5, to be launched in 2024.
Starting in July 2021, however, Polestar began publishing a YouTube documentary series entitled “Polestar Precept: From Concept to Car” – the latest episode of which aired this week, revealing the process behind the creation of the Polestar 5’s interior.
