Swedish-Swiss global technology company ABB has launched a new all-in-one EV charger which the company claims provides the fastest charging experience on the market, able to deliver 100-kilometres of range in under three minutes.

The new ABB Terra 360 EV charger is a modular charger that can charge up to four vehicles simultaneously with dynamic power distribution. It boasts a maximum output of 360kW and is capable of fully charging any electric car in 15 minutes or less.

“With governments around the world writing public policy that favors electric vehicles and charging networks to combat climate change, the demand for EV charging infrastructure, especially charging stations that are fast, convenient and easy to operate is higher than ever,” said Frank Muehlon, President of ABB’s E-mobility Division.

The new Terra 360 charger is also aimed at improving ease of use, with a lighting system able to guide the user through the charging process, show the State of Charge (SoC) of the battery and the remaining time before the end of an optimal charge session.

The Terra 360 is also wheelchair accessible and features an ergonomic cable management system that makes it easier to charge and can also be installed on commercial premises to charge EV fleets of cars, vans, and trucks.

That means EV fleets can be charged overnight with four vehicles to every one charging station or can be charged during the day as needed.

Due to be available in Europe by the end of the year, the ABB Terra 360 will be available in the United States, Latin America, and Asia Pacific regions in 2022
