Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback now available to order in Australia

Australian drivers after a premium zero-emissions driving option can now add the Audi e-tron to the list of vehicles available to order in Australia.

Audi has announced that online orders are now open for the all-electric e-tron and e-tron Sportback, which is available in two power output and driving range options as well as a limited “First Edition” trim for the top-range 55 Quattro variant.

Starting from $137,700, the Audi e-tron joins the higher end of the Australian electric vehicle market alongside the similarly priced Mercedes-Benz EQC and $125,000 Jaguar I-Pace.

Audi announced pricing and specifications for the e-tron and e-tron Sportback in Australia earlier in June, marking it as a “new era of mobility” for the premium German car maker in Australia.

With first vehicles expected to be delivered to customers in September, the opening of the online order system is an “exciting step,” said Nikki Warburton, chief customer and marketing officer of Audi Australia, in a statement.

“Our very first all-electric vehicles are brimming with innovative, game-changing technology highlights, and so it’s fitting for us to make them initially available to customers via our new online purchase platform.

“Our online platform creates a seamless experience for customers and hopefully will add to the excitement of securing one of the first Audi e-tron vehicles in Australia. We are thrilled to offer customers a tailored digital solution that complements contemporary lifestyles,” said Warburton.

With up to 400km driving range for the upper-end 55 Quattro and 300km range for the entry-level 50 Quattro e-tron and e-tron Sportback (both on the Euro WLTP cycle), both models offer pre-conditioning interior heating and cooling features thanks to their respective 95kWh and 71kWh battery packs.

Both variants are also able to take advantage of some of the fastest charging rates on the market, with a top charging rate of 150kW for the 55 Quattro allowing a fast recharge to 80% in 30 minutes. For the 50 Quattro, a maximum 120kW  charging rate is possible.

Audi e-tron customers will also be able to take advantage a complimentary 6-year subscription to both AC and DC charging on the Chargefox network including all its ultra-rapid 350kW chargers and selected fast (50kW) and AC destination chargers. All e-trons come with an 8 year, 160,000km drivetrain warranty and can be serviced at Audi’s network of 42 dealers.
