New electric vehicle wall charger launched for Australian market

Swiss-Swedish automation and electrification giant ABB has launched a new electric vehicle wall charger for the Australian market.

With the global auto market set to shift to almost 60% electric vehicles by 2040, installation of AC electric vehicle (EV) chargers at home or work will soon become the norm for anyone wanting to future proof their assets.

ABB says its new Terra AC wall charger will provide a high quality, affordable and more importantly, connected solution for electric vehicle owners and property developers.

“The trends of urbanization, digitalisation and industrialization all converged to necessitate a significant shift in the way we travel,” David Sullivan, Head of ABB’s Electrification business in Australia, said in a note by email.

ABB is already a leader in electric vehicle DC fast chargers, and an avid advocate for the electric vehicle transition as the main backer for the FIA Formula E electric car racing series.
