The Tesla Model 3 has been on sale in Australia since 2019 and remains the best selling electric sedan. Model 3 has received numerous small hardware changes and software improvements over its lifetime. Tesla also made significant updates to the Model 3 from 2024 onwards, including improved ride and handling, a redesigned front end and increased driving range.
Interior changes for current models include a screen for rear-seat passengers and the controversial removal of the gear selector stalk from the steering wheel, with gears selected by swiping on the side of the touchscreen. The indicator stalk was also removed with the refresh initially, but Tesla has since added this back.
Model 3 Performance includes an upgraded performance drive unit, front sport seats, adaptive suspension and exterior design changes to further differentiate it from other variants.
