The Kia Niro EV is based on the same underlying architecture as the Hyundai Kona Electric, and was originally called the Kia e-Niro. Compared to the Kona Electric the Niro EV has a higher starting price and slightly less driving range.
With the launch of the much cheaper and better equipped EV3 and EV5 built on dedicated electric vehicle platforms, Kia has confirmed it will stop selling the Niro EV in Australia. Limited supplies of new Niro EVs may be found in some Kia dealerships while stocks last.
