Back in February this year, Polestar announced there were to be four new model releases over the following 12 months. Well, time flies and the first of these has just arrived!
Polestar have now launched the ‘not-very-well-kept-secret’ of an SUV version of their popular Polestar 4 coupe, and is offering it at around the same price as the recently discounted coupe model.
Officially, the price starts at $73,900, but the Polestar configurator shows options starting at under $68,000 for both the SUV and the coupe, which has sold just over 2,300 units since its release in early 2025.

The new SUV version sports a redesigned rear end with a straighter roofline and more upright tailgate that, for the first time in the Polestar 4, includes a rear window. Full-length roof rails have also been added, increasing the roof load capacity to 100 kg.
With the SUV profile comes 2.5 cm extra rear headroom and an increased total of 1,680 litres of storage. (Up from 1,551 litres in the coupe).
This comprises 530 litres to the top of the seatbacks, and 655 litres when measured up to the inner roof. Folding the rear seatbacks (which have a 60/40 split) opens up 1,665 litres of luggage capacity. There is also a 15 litre ‘froot’ (or frunk) under the bonnet.

As per the coupe, the drivetrain includes a 100 kWh battery supporting 200 kW DC and up to 22 kW AC charging. However, the SUV version sees the introduction of Vehicle to Load (V2L) functionality of up to 3.3 kW (16A, 230V). Polestar do by the way note that this same V2L functionality is being added to the coupe variant.
Updates to the infotainment screen include increasing the number of widget shortcuts on the main display from six to nine, alongside a broader selection of available shortcut functions.
The option of a 12 speaker Harman Kardon Sound system has also been added, which Polestar say has been specifically tuned to suit the Polestar 4 SUV variant.
The SUV version also sees the introduction of ‘Camping Mode’, where the parked vehicle can be turned into a climate-controlled space at the touch of the screen. The function provides access to entertainment, ambient lighting and vehicle controls from both front and rear displays, supported by V2L power, USB-C connectivity and the 12V outlet.
Polestar are also spruiking the sustainability credentials of the latest Polestar 4, claiming a cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of 21.1t CO2e for the Dual motor variant and 20.2t CO2e for Rear motor versions. According to Polestar, this makes the Polestar 4 SUV one of the lowest carbon footprint models in their line-up.
One interesting point to note here is that the Polestar 4 SUV, unlike the coupe version, is not made in China. Rather, it is the first vehicle to come out of their new South Korean plant, where production started in the second quarter of 2026.
