Overnight, BYD has increased prices on their popular Atto 3 EV SUV in Australia. Prices for the Standard model start at $48,011 while the longer-range Extended variant starts at $51,011.

Both of these are for white paint which is included. Other colours are an additional $700.

The overall price increase has been $3,630 which is 8.2% on the Standard range model while the Extended model has had an increase of 7.7%.Ā

The popularity of the Atto 3 in Australia has taken BYD by storm and for the very right reasons. A ground-up EV under $50,000 was unheard of in 2021 and BYD came into the Australian market in 2022 and delivered just that.Ā

The changes come after BYD increased prices in other right-hand drive markets like New Zealand back in October.

With rising logistical costs and demand in the EV in the Australian market, the price rises are not unexpected.

Now the car had a five-star ANCAP safety rating making it one of the safest and most affordable ground-up EV SUVs Australians can purchase today.

This milestone has just further increased demand for the already popular EV which was the second-best-selling EV in Australia in November.Ā

Current delivery times for new orders are for April/May. With more interest in EVs and affordable EVs in particular, it can be expected for this to extend further out into 2023 as BYD sets to launch in many more markets, including the UK in the coming months.
