The Jeep stand at the prestigious Paris Show next week (the Mondial de L’Automobile) will be exclusively EV and dedicated to their first all-electric model: the Jeep Avenger.

Targeting a 400km range, this will be the first all-electric model from Jeep – but it won’t be the last. Jeep are planning three more full electric models by 2025, with the intention for Jeep in Europe to be 100% electric by 2030.

Taking full advantage of the electric platform, the Avenger has its wheels pushed out further to the corners – giving it excellent approach and departure angles. In addition, Jeep have given it a class-leading ground clearance – all up, it sounds like it will make a very capable weekend-away 4WD.

Full details and specifications for the Avenger will be released at the Paris Motor Show 1pm (Paris time) next Monday. Reservations will also open that day.

The Avenger is to be built in Poland and is expected to begin European deliveries in early 2023, with Japan, South Korea and ‘other markets’ to follow. (Jeep have yet to specify what those ‘other markets’ will be).

Jeep have also shown near-production versions of two of the other three full-electric models they plan to be selling by 2025.

These are a full-electric version of the Wagoneer (called the Wagoneer S) and full-electric new model called the Recon. As for where these new models will be sold: the Avenger is considered ‘too small’ for the American market and will not be sold there, however the Wagoneer and Recon are destined for the US market.

When it comes to the Australian market: with right-hand drive versions of the Avenger to be sold in both the UK and Japan, it would not seem a stretch to imagine a release here.

However, Jeep Australia have yet to make any comments on when/if they plan to move EV. On the other hand, given Jeep internationally is moving to an all-electric future, it would seem that Jeep Australia will sooner or later have to make the move.
