Iconic American automaker Chevrolet this week teased the upcoming launch of its 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, a sleek crossover that will bear the brand’s legendary SS nameplate.

Following in the tradition of drip-releasing titbits of information to keep media outlets drooling over future releases, Chevrolet on Monday unveiled a single new image of its upcoming 2024 Chevy Blazer EV, with the promise that the car would be unveiled on July 18.

Originally teased earlier this year by General Motors CEO Mary Barra at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a vague teaser video was published in March highlighting the charging port and the wheels emblazoned with the “SS” nameplate.

The “Super Sport” nameplate has been offered by Chevrolet since 1961 as a signature performance option package, and subsequently suggests that the 2024 Chevy Blazer SS will likely be priced much higher than the $US30,000 Equinox.

Styled with what can only be described as sleek lines and trim, the new Chevrolet crossover appears to ride a little lower than its Blazer SUV predecessors and has a lot going on at the front with multiple grilles around the front bumper giving the car a very busy look.

Worth noting, though, is that the image is of a preproduction model, and that the “actual production model will vary”.

As for any details we really want to get our hands on – range, charging speed, interior, etc – we’ll just have to wait until July 18.
