Earlier this year, a new EV brand known in China as Avatr was spotted testing in Australia, hinting at its imminent arrival in the local market with a sleek electric SUV as its first offering.
Now, a picture of what is believed to be its second model, an Avatr 06T wagon, was taken by Aaron L and reshared on X by Roland from ZappedAu.
The Avatar 06T was seen in New South Wales and is likely a testing vehicle ahead of the modelās likely launch next year.
In the shared picture, the rear lights match the sequence of the 06 wagon model. The Victorian number plates also hint at a fairly recent registration.
The 06T is currently sold in China, with presales starting in April 2026. The 07 is one of its newest models on the market and its EV variants come with two Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery from CATL.
The first is a 75.5 kWh battery pack, which helps the car reach a CLTC range of up to 652 km, which is likely to be closer to 500 km on the WLTP cycle, more commonly used in Australia.
There is also a larger 89.3 kWh battery, which is rated at up to 741 km of CLTC range, likely closer to 550 km on the WLTP cycle.
Both battery packs use CATL’s Shenxing battery tech, which can be charged from 30-80% in around 10 minutes.
With these batteries, two drivetrains are on offer. The first is a RWD powertrain has two rear motors, each outputting 450 kW to the rear wheels.
There is also an AWD powertrain, which is paired with the larger battery, providing 712 kW of combined power output
This top-spec AWD powertrain can get the car from 0-100 km/h in as little as 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h.
Avatr is a premium Chinese EV brand created as a joint venture between three industry giants. These include the auto manufacturer Changan, the battery manufacturer CATL, and the tech company Huawei.
It was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Chongqing, China, with design and engineering hubs sitting in Shanghai and Munich, Germany.
Avatr incorporates Huaweiās infotainment and autonomous driving tech and uses CATLās latest batteries, featuring some of the fastest charging tech on the market. It’s unclear whether Huawei tech will be used in models in international markets.

Previously, the company has announced its local arrival, starting with the 07L SUV, which has also been recently seen testing.
More details around potential local specs, pricing and variants are expected to be announced closer to the launch, likely in 2027.
