The Geely EX2 has arrived in Australia with a starting price of just $26,490 before on-road costs, making it one of the country’s cheapest new electric cars.
But cheap EVs are no longer unusual, and the EX2 enters an increasingly competitive market alongside models such as the Aion UT, BYD Atto 1, MG4, GWM Ora and Hyundai Inster.
We drive the longer-range EX2 Inspire to see how it stacks up, covering its rear-wheel-drive dynamics, ride and handling, huge 375-litre boot and 70-litre frunk, interior and rear-seat space, ADAS, charging speeds and real-world usability.
The Inspire gets a 47.1kWh LFP battery, 85kW rear motor and 345km WLTP range, but costs $30,990 before on-road costs. So does the EX2 offer enough to stand out as Australia’s affordable EV market gets increasingly crowded?
Geely EX2 Inspire key specs: 47.1kWh LFP battery | 85kW/150Nm | RWD | 345km WLTP | 80kW DC charging | 6kW AC charging | 375L boot | 70L frunk | $30,990 + on-roads.
