BYD has announced a new cash-back offer on its popular small EV in Australia, as it continues its push to become the best selling car brand in Australia.
The new offer – “$2,000 Cash Your Way” – applies to the the Atto 2 premium electric SUV for the months of August and September – and follows a price reduction for the premium version of the best-selling Sealion 7 electric SUV announced a few days ago.
The $2,000 cash back offer can also be applied to selected products from BYD, including accessories, car care, merchandise, and charging solutions, according to the brand. The offer is valid for buyers who purchase the vehicle by 30 September and take delivery by 31 October.
The offer suggests that BYD has available stock, even after the surge in EV sales in the last few months as thousands of car owners sought shelter from the soaring cost of diesel and petrol.
The Atto 2 has been one of BYD’s best selling cars in recent months, hitting a record 760 units sold in May, and then more than trebling the number with a new record 2,482 unit sales in the month of June.

In June 2026, BYD fell just 243 vehicles short of overtaking Toyota as the best-selling car maker, with a total of 18,881, including 10,371 EV sales, although it is still way behind on the 2026 year to date. Its range of models means it is already the top ranking EV seller, beating Tesla even though the Model Y has been the best selling car in the country over the last two months.
The Atto 2 SUV comes in a single powertrain configuration with an entry-level Dynamic variant starting at $31,990 before on-roads. Premium variant, to which this offer applies to starts at $35,990 before on-roads.
This variant has a larger 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen, wireless phone charging, and an 8-speaker sound system. On top of that, it comes with power-adjustable front seats with both heating and ventilation cooling.
There’s also a panoramic glass roof with powered sunshade, 360-degree surround-view camera, roof racks, and auto-folding/dimming mirrors.
It’s powered by a 51.3 kWh blade battery pack, which is paired with a 130 kW motor. It can deliver a range of up to 345 km on the WLTP cycle. It can do the 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds, with the Premium variant coming with the larger 17-inch alloys.
