MG is offering special deals, including a $3,000 cash back and $500 in accessories, for two of its premium electric models, the IM5 sedan and the IM6 SUV.Â
According to the MG website, customers ordering IM5 and IM6 in August and take delivery before the end of the month will now pay a driveaway price of between $57,990 and $74,990 in the highly competitive premium section of the market.
- IM5 Premium and IM6 Premium (75 kWh RWD) – $57,990
- IM5 Platinum and IM6 Platinum (100 kWh RWD) – $64,990
- IM5 Performance and IM6 Performance (100 kWh AWD) – $74,990
Both the sedan and the SUV come with either a single-motor RWD variant or a dual-motor AWD model. For batteries, two options are available, with most variants featuring the larger 100 kWh battery pack.Â
The IM models will also feature one entry-level RWD variant, equipped with a 75 kWh battery pack, which delivers a 505 km NEDC range or 490 km on the WLTP cycle on the IM5 sedan. On the IM6, this battery delivers up to 450 km of range on the WLTP cycle.
The larger packs deliver greater range on both models. For the IM5, it’s 575 km on the Performance variant, while the Platinum gets up to 655 km of WLTP range.
These top-spec cars can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.48 seconds for the L6 SUV, while the sedan comes in at a blistering 3.2 seconds, making it some of the fastest cars in Australia.
Inside, there are plenty of premium finishes and packs a large 26.3-inch screen, as well as a secondary 10.5-inch screen. For the sound system, there are 20 speakers strategically placed around the cabin deliver high-quality acoustics.
As of the end of June, both IM5 and IM6 have seen 582 sales, which is a fairly good result given the sub-brand is still in awareness growth phase in Australia.
