Tesla is increasing the size of one of its first supercharger sites in the country, as EV sales surge in 2026 and the company continues to roll out new EV charging sites.
The companyās Euroa site in Victoria, is expected to have its existing 6 supercharger stalls increased to 10 stalls, according to council plans spotted by EV enthusiast Jason C, from Techau and shared on X.
According to the post, Jason shared: āTesla has applied to increase the Euroa Supercharger from 6 chargers to 10 chargers. This is to accommodate growth in demand for EVs.ā
As part of the plan, the four additional parking bays on the site will be used as part of the expansion, and the new V4 technology will be installed. Tesla will also install CCTV cameras to improve site safety and security.Ā
According to the council documentation, all costs will be paid by Tesla and the council would not incur any costs as part of this rebuild.
The Euroa site was first opened in 2017 as a 6-stall V2 Supercharger site with each stall having a peak speed of 130 kW. Itās located on the popular Melbourne to Canberra/Sydney route.
Currently, it’s open only to Tesla drivers, with pricing of $0.43/kWh, making it one of the most affordable fast-charging sites in the area.
It is believed that the upgraded site will feature much faster V4 supercharger stalls and be open to non-Tesla EVs.
On the back of this news, EV owners shared their feedback on Facebook, with one saying:
āThat would be brilliant! Iāve just done Melbourne to Canberra return in my Atto 3, and chargers in Albury, Coolac and Canberra were brilliant. I paid for a monthly Tesla membership which was great as it gave me cheap charging, but thereās no access to Tesla chargers in the Hume between Melbourne and Albury. So this is awesome news!!ā

The consultation period from Strathbogie Shire Council is open until 11 August, with a decision likely later this year.
According to data from carloop, as of July 2026, Tesla currently operates 158 sites across the country with over 1,000 charging stalls.
With EV demand increasing rapidly, any upgrades to existing sites and new builds would be welcomed by thousands as we head into the next stage of EV adoption.
