Tesla starts rollout of FSD Lite for older cars outside of US

Tesla started rolling out the highly anticipated lighter version of full self-driving (FSD) supervised, called v14 Lite, last month in the US, designed for older AI3 hardware-equipped electric vehicles in its fleet, which make up around 4 million cars globally.

Now, the company’s Tesla AI page on X has revealed that this version is starting to head to cars with AI3 in South Korea, as part of its international rollout.

In a post on X, Tesla AI said: ā€œv14 Lite is now rolling out to early access AI3 owners in Koreaā€, adding that it would be offered to all eligible AI3 owners in Korea after further validation.

The v14 Lite update brings with it upgrades to the car’s self-driving software stack, enabling setting speed profiles, starting self-driving from park, arrival options around parking, as well as other feature set found on v14.

In September 2025, Tesla launched the FSD supervised software to all eligible cars in Australia and New Zealand, making these the first right-hand-drive markets globally to receive the software.

It is now available as a subscription which starts at $149 per month, after seeing one-off purchases of the software come to an end earlier this year.

The latest v14 Lite update, when launched for AI3 cars, will bring tens of thousands of new subscribers to the software in Australia.

After testing the latest v14 software on AI4 Model 3 in Melbourne earlier this month, it’s quite a big step up from the v13 we tested last year.

The level of confidence the software now has on the road, and the new driving and parking modes, does improve the overall experience. On most trips, the latest version can make driving so much more stress-free, especially during peak hour traffic.

Tesla appears to be focused on rolling out FSD Supervised software to as many vehicles as possible as competition in the EV sales segment heats up, giving It a head start over competitors that have yet to test their autonomous software in Australia.
