A new supercharger station has been spotted in Europe with an incorporated vacuum cleaner which will help drivers supercharging their EVs to clean them at the same time.
At a Supercharging site in Germany, which already incorporates multiple V4 charging stalls and a solar canopy, the company has installed a vacuuming station, normally found at carwash stations.
This was spotted by Warren W, who shared images of the setup and said: āWhat a great feature! A car vacuum located next to the Tesla Charging stall so you donāt waste any time when charging your Teslaā.
On the back of this post, there was an overall positive reception with increased curiosity, with one owner saying: āThat is genius! What location is that?ā.
At this particular site, there is also a lounge that those owners can use, improving the overall charging experience.
Tesla has tried to add other facilities at certain locations around the world, including a swimming pool, a self-serve pizza vending machine and more.
In Australia, the largest open supercharging site at Goulburn, which opened in 2025, features an air compressor to top up tyre pressures.
EV charging stations have often been left without the facilities considered routine at petrol stations, such as rubbish bins, window cleaning facilities, water and shade. Gradually though, these are being added, and a vacuum cleaner is a major leap forward.
Tesla continues to operate one of the largest charging networks around the world with its supercharger stations now having over 80,000 stalls.Ā
Locally in Australia, according to the latest data from carloop, the company operates 153 sites with over 1,000 Supercharger bays.
Over the last 24 months, the number of Tesla Superchargers has grown by over 40%, making more reliable charging available across many parts of the country.
The previous surge in site growth had been focused in NSW, partially driven by the state government’s co-funding of EV charging, but Tesla is now also opening sites in other parts of the country too.Ā
Two recently added sites include one in Perth and the other in Melbourne, accounting for 12 new V4 supercharger stalls.
The recent surge in EV adoption and interest will also provide extra confidence to charge point operators to continue expanding infrastructure, which some saw being tested during parts of this year’s Easter break.
With EV adoption rates at an all-time high in many parts of the world, Teslaās supercharger network will continue to see increasing demand.Ā
Adding amenities such as tyre fillers and vacuum cleaning stations would only improve the overall experience, which in the early-majority stage of EV adoption would help people move away from petrol and diesel vehicles sooner.
