South Korean automaker Kia has confirmed Australian pricing for its all-electric PV5 Cargo van, which will start from $55,990 when it arrives in dealerships in late May – lower than the offerings of other electric vans in the local market.
The PV5 won the ‘2026 International Van of the Year” late last year and was approved for sale in Australia in February, and is the first EV to arrive in Australia that has been built on Kia’s next-generation all-electric ‘E-GMP.S’ PBV (Platform Beyond Vehicle) platform.
It will feature a Long Range variant with a 71.2 kWh Nickel-Manganese-Cobalt (NMC) battery, boasting a driving range of 416 kilometres (WLTP).
The pricing compares favourably with competitor models, such as the Farizon SV cargo van, the VW Id.Buzz, the Ford e-transit custom, and others from LDV, Renault and Mercedes. (see AEVA’s model summary and prices here).
While detailed specifications are set to be released soon, the PV5 has already undergone Kia Australia’s long-established local Ride & Handling Program, which prioritises navigating urban delivery routes and tailoring the ride for rough country roads.
The PV5 Cargo will also be on display at the Melbourne Motor Show being held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 10 to 12.
The PV5 Cargo van is expected to arrive in dealerships starting from late May.
