Subaru, little more than a month after announcing the initial specs of its second battery electric vehicle in Australia, the Trailseeker, has announced the impending arrival of third EV, a smaller electric AWD SUV called the Uncharted.
The new car is expected to arrive in Subaru dealerships by the middle of this year, and while official pricing has not been announced it could be pitched at around $55,000.
The Uncharted will come with an AWD powertrain delivering 252 kW of power, helping it sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds, making it one of the quickest Subaru SUVs in its local line-up.
This powertrain is paired with a 74.7 kWh battery pack, which is supplied by the worldās biggest EV battery maker, CATL, and can deliver up to 522 km of range.
Vehicle-to-load (V2L) is also on offer with a 1.5 kW load rating to charge or power essential equipment when the car is parked. The ground clearance is 211 mm.
āUncharted has been engineered from the ground up as a true driverās car ā sharp, responsive and incredibly rewarding behind the wheel,ā Scott Lawrence, GM of Subaru Australia, said in a statement.
āIt doesnāt just take on a corner; it invites you to push further. This is a vehicle that brings a new level of excitement and fun to the Subaru line-up.
āThereās never been a Subaru quite like Uncharted. The response is immediate, the dynamics are sharp, and the whole experience just draws you in ā itās something you feel the moment you get behind the wheel.ā

Subaru recently launched the upgraded Solterra SUV in our local market with improved charging specs and a price drop of around $7,000, making it an attractive alternative toĀ the popular Forrester, which is offered with the hybrid powertrain.
The Uncharted also appears to be a step up in styling and is closer in looks to the companyās smaller XV, helping more drivers consider this car over the ICE lineup.
Interested buyers can now register their interest in the new Subaru Uncharted on the companyās Australian website.
The local price for this model could start around $54,990 before on-roads, given the 2026 Subaru Solterra AWD currently starts at $63,990 before on-roads.
More details on local specs, pricing, and a more precise timing of local arrival will be announced closer to the EVās mid-2026 launch.
