TrueEV Distribution, the Sydney headquartered distributor which has exclusive distribution rights of rapidly emerging Chinese electric carmaker Xpeng, has been placed into external administration.
The appointment of Daniel Juratowitch and Barry Wight of insolvency firm Cor Cordis, reported on multiple car websites, including by DriveWise, The appointment reportedly stems out of a dispute between the two parties.
However, it seems inevitable that will put a question mark over sales of XPeng EVs, at least in the near term.
TrueEV Distribution, which was founded in 2023 and in 2024 was selected as the exclusive and sole importer, distributor, and retailer for Xpeng in Australia.
The Xpeng G6 has sold 135 of its G6 electric SUVs in Australia so far this year, according to The Driven’s data, and an estimated 2,100 in 2025.
According to the ASIC filings, the administrators are taking control 197 vehicles across Melbourne, Brisbane, Wollongong and Fremantle.
