Less than a fortnight Ā after BYD announced the 2024 version of its popular Atto 3 electric SUV, with a lower price and upgraded features, the deliveries have started to occur.

Joel A, a new owner of the 2024 BYD Atto 3 shared their picking up of the black vehicle on BYD EV owners Australia facebook group: ā€œOrdered mine a few weeks back and they let me know they’d change it to the black which they did.ā€

In the photos Joel A shares the updated exterior and the interior as well. The rear of the vehicle shows ā€œBYDā€ instead of Ā the ā€œBuild Your Dreamsā€ badge seen in previous models.

There are also black exterior panels on the side of the vehicle giving it new modern look. There are also now updated Continental tyres.

The interior has also seen an upgrade and is more subtle. When asked about what Joel thought of the new interior, he replied: ā€œI like it, I think it will be more practical with young kids but it is less of a statement than the originalā€.

Others with existing Atto 3’s also commended the new interior: ā€œBlack looks slick, but it gets scratch/dirty too easily. We still love our team blue. Wish we have the dark interior though!!ā€

The new Atto 3 starts at $44,499 for the Standard variant with a 50 kWh BYD Blade battery pack, down from the previous model’s price of $48,011 before on-road costs.Ā

This setup can deliver up to 420 km of NEDC range or 345 km on the WLTP cycle.

For those looking for more range, the Extended range variant has a larger 60 kWh battery pack. This delivers up to 480 km on the NEDC cycle. This variant now starts at $47,499.

With all the new changes, it’s really created new interest in the product which helped pioneer the brand in Australia.

After launching back in 2022, this is the first major update the model has seen and appears to be a hit amongst existing and new owners.

Over the last 18 months, BYD has delivered nearly 15,000 Atto 3 SUVs to customers. The new model will help the brand set new milestones in the coming months.
