Cars have had extended wait times for a few years now and in the last 18 months, EVs have had long wait times.Ā
Tesla order holders have had to wait up to 12 months to receive a Tesla Model 3. Thatās now changed with Tesla Model 3 inventory being available for immediate delivery to all states and territories.Ā

This means that Australiaās best-selling EV, the Tesla Model 3 can be reserved and delivered in a couple of days. Itās the first time this has happened since October 2021.
In between that, there have been several price increases in 2022 followed by last month when Tesla slashed prices across all EV models in Australia to kick-start 2023.
This means that the Tesla Model 3 is more affordable than it has been in the last 12 months without factoring in inflation. At the same time, the Tesla wait times have been reduced significantly with many vehicles available in under 12 weeks for custom orders.

In many states and territories, there are still rebate schemes that will further reduce the price of the RWD variant which is also the most popular EV by variant in Australia.
Last year, Tesla Model 3 was not only the best-selling EV with 10,877 sales, but it also outsold the Toyota Camry ICE vehicle which had 9,538 sales during the year.
This year so far, January saw the Tesla Model 3 being the third best-selling vehicle in Australia.Ā

Tesla EV sales kickstarted 2023 with 3,313 Tesla Model 3 and Model Ys adding to the total EV tally. A grand total of 2,927 Tesla Model 3 sedans were sold nationally.
As far as we can see, Tesla is the only EV brand thatās able to deliver large amounts of EVs needed and the stock available for immediate purchase will only help get more EVs to Australian drivers sooner.
