Genesis GV70 Electrified drivetrain and architecture

The single GV70 Electrified variant sports a 77.4kWh motor, and twin 180kW motors that deliver 350Nm torque offering acceleration from a standing sprint to 100km/hr in 4.2 seconds.

Although not built on the same e-GMP platform as the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, as well as the Genesis G80 Electrified  and electric-only GV60, it does have rapid DC fast charging from 10-80% in 18 minutes.

Additionally, the GV70 Electrified can act as a mobile power source, charging devices from its battery thanks to its interior and exterior Vehicle to Load (V2L) capabilities. In order to provide consumers the option to utilise electricity anywhere, the V2L feature supports a 3.6kW power supply externally and 240-volt power point inside the vehicle.

The Electrified GV70 has a Disconnector Actuator System (DAS) that may automatically connect or separate the motor and drive shaft depending on a variety of factors, including operating mode and speed.

In order to maximise efficiency, the technology allows for seamless switching between 2WD and AWD while minimising unnecessary power loss.

Genesis GV70 Electrified one-pedal driving and quiet ride

Based on real-time navigational data and traffic circumstances, the Smart Regenerative Braking System 2.0 regenerates energy through the braking system. The driver can not only use the accelerator pedal to accelerate, but by lifting their foot from the brake, can come to a full stop in an i-PEDAL (Intelligent Pedal) driving mode.

The Electrified GV70 uses Active Noise Control-Road (ANC-R) technology to offer a refined driving experience.

Through measurement, analysis, and simultaneous production of sounds at the opposite phase to cancel out road noises, the technique considerably lowers the noise level that passengers feel.

In order to provide the best riding comfort, the Electrified GV70 additionally includes Preview Electronic Control Suspension (Preview ECS).

The front camera is used by the suspension system to collect information that guides instantaneous suspension damping adjustments to take potholes and bumps into account.

Genesis GV70 Electrified interior and exterior design

Based on the Genesis GV70 SUV, this “Electrified” variant is distinguished by a few specific features, such as new 20-inch rims, but above all a redesigned front bumper to optimize its aerodynamics, and whose full grille hides a charging socket. By losing its tailpipes, the rear bumper also becomes more sober and fluid.

There is also additional space in the back row thanks to the underfloor battery and lowering of driveline tunnel.

In total, there are 13 exterior colours on offer for the GV70 Electrified, including nine gloss and four matte finishes (the latter for an additional $2,000.) The signature “Atacama Copper” is available in both gloss and matte options.

Inside, the GV70 Electrified gets a one-up on its combustion engine stablemates with a sport three-spoke steering wheel for the luxury package option, and a unique graphic with backlit door trim. The use of eco-friendly materials exude “sustainable luxury”, and are available in obsidian black or a two-tone green/blue or white/blue options.
