A range of updates and an extra battery option are coming to the all-electric Škoda Enyaq iV in the UK, hinting at what’s to come for the Australian market when it eventually arrives in the second half of 2023.
Both the Škoda Enyaq iV SUV and its range-topping cousin, the vRS coupé, have been confirmed for Australia, and although official specifications for the local market are not available it has been speculated that there may be two battery options on the table.
Škoda pulled the smaller Enyaq iV 60 with 58kWh usable battery from the UK market in April, citing supply issues as Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine disrupted supply chains.
Available to UK drivers immediately, Škoda is again offering a smaller battery option alongside the larger Enyaq iV 80 with 77kWh usable battery. Amongst the upgrades are improved battery management which Skoda says will maximise driving range.
Pricing in the UK now sits at £38,480 ($A66,548 at today’s rates) for the iV 60, and £42,435 ($A73,387) for the iV80.
Updated WLTP ratings have not been given by the carmaker but specifications on the company’s Uk media site suggest there is an 11km improvement on the Enyaq iV80’s previous 534km range (WLTP).
Upgrades will be introduced to the Enyaq iV as part of the 2023 year model refresh, and also include the latest v3.2 version of the VW auto group’s MEB platform software. This will also be applied to existing vehicles via an over-the-air update, adding navigation and heads-up display upgrades, as well as visual updates to the infotainment and heating/ventilation interfaces.
Additionally, Enyaq owners will now also get remote access via s smartphone as standard for the first three years. This includes features like vehicle location and status, on top of current features such as remote charging, climate control and departure scheduler.
Drivers will now also get to choose from four rejigged option packs, which encompass “Clever,” “Plus,” “Advanced,” and “Maxx.”
In converted Australian dollars, these start at $A4,764 and run up to $A16,213.
