Taiwanese power technology company Delta Electronics has unveiled what it calls an “armada of innovative”  electric charging solutions and launched a partnership with Sydney-based EV charging software company Everty.

Included amongst the new EV charging offerings are a new bi-directional V2X charger, a new 50kW DC wallbox, and a solar off-grid solution specifically designed for electrification in rural areas.

Delta’s new V2X charger provides bi-directional power conversion with a maximum 11kW output and 95% peak efficiency for charging and discharging EVs.

With a compatible energy management system (EMS), the V2X charger delivers on the promise of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology, allowing EVs to provide utility not only as transportation, but also as an energy storage device and node in a virtual power plant to stabilise local power grids.

Meanwhile, the new DC 50kW wallbox has been designed to provide high-efficiency charging services for commercial sites with a charging efficiency of around 96%.

Delta also announced on Wednesday a partnership with Sydney-based EV charging software company Everty, which will integrate Everty’s software into Delta’s range of consumer and public-facing smart chargers.

“The true cost of living is of great concern to all Australians, and as we’ve seen recently, fuel security and rising petrol costs is a major contributor to household pressures,” said Carola Jonas, founder and CEO of Everty.

“Electric vehicles represent a cleaner, more sustainable form of mobility, and Everty’s platform ensures they are also the most cost efficient.”

Integrating Everty’s software with Delta’s AC and DC electric vehicle chargers will provide customers with access to real-time around charger condition and maintenance, as well as offering potential cost savings for users by offering the ability to select EV charging at off-peak periods.

Customers utilising Everty-enabled Delta chargers will have access to a range of smart charging features available in both a mobile phone app and on a computer desktop dashboard.

For example, homeowners will be able to schedule charging sessions, control the power output, access charging session records, and increase solar self-consumption, while support for solar energy will also allow homes to feed power back into the grid.

“By partnering with Everty, Delta Electronics can offer customers a regionally specific service when using Delta’s EV chargers, unlike other off-the-shelf overseas alternatives.,” said David Leal, Delta Electronics Australia’s country manager.

“Most importantly, this partnership will give consumers the power to choose when and how they charge and reap the benefits of that choice.”
