Chargefox, Australia’s largest EV charging network, has launched its second ultra-rapid charging station in Western Australia, officially opening on Monday a new charging station in West Perth.
The new charging station is located centrally, about 20-kilometres from the airport and close to the centre of town. The West Perth charging station, like all of Chargefox’s EV charging sites, is powered by 100% renewable electricity and features two 350kW capable Tritium Veefil PK chargers, each with CCS2 and CHAdeMO plugs.
At an average of 20kWh/100km, the 350kW chargers can deliver up to 400km of range in 15 minutes.
The new Chargefox West Perth is the company’s 21st ultra-rapid charging station, with charging sites located in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and Western Australia.
Chargefox’s first ultra-rapid charging station in Western Australia was opened in November 2020 in Australind, 160-kilometres south of Perth.
With over 11,500 users on their app, Chargefox says it has powered more than 180,000 EV charging sessions and 3 million carbon-free kilometres.
The Chargefox network also includes a number of standard EV chargers, and the company currently boasts over 1,400 plugs including standard DC (22kW), fast (50kW) and ultra-rapid chargers (350kW).
