The Ioniq 5 was Hyundai ‘s first electric vehicle built on the versatile E-GMP platform, featuring V2L functionality that can supply up to 3.6 kW of power and an 800 V architecture that enables rapid DC fast charging up to 233 kW. Hyundai overhauled and vastly simplified the Ioniq 5 lineup for 2026, with just 4 variants all sharing the same upgraded 84 kWh battery pack.
Ioniq 5 and Elite variants are both rear-wheel drive whereas the N Line Premium and Ioniq 5 N are all-wheel drive. The performance focused Ioniq 5 N variant at the top of the lineup features several unique drive modes designed for use on a track.
