BYD made it onto the EV sales podium in the number three spot in 2023 with its popular Atto 3 raking up over 11,000 sales during the 12 months.

Now BYD has announced a cashback discount in a bid to get more people behind the wheel of an EV. New buyers of an in-stock 2023 BYD Atto 3 SUV will receive $2023 cashback from the brand.

On BYD’s Australian website, this promotion is headlined by ā€œTurn your electric vehicle dreams into realityā€.

ā€œBYD concluded 2023 with a record-breaking 3 million annual sales, becoming the global leader in New Energy Vehicle (NEV) sales,” the company says.

“Embrace this innovation with us. For a limited time, own the award-winning 2023 BYD ATTO 3 and enjoy $2023 cashback.ā€

This offer also comes on the back of several state rebates ending in 2023. These included the Victorian subsidy scheme in June followed by the NSW incentive program on new EVs coming to an end at the end of 2023.Ā

Earlier this month, the South Australian government also ended their subsidy program for purchases after 1 January.

Incentives in other parts of the country such as Queensland, WA, ACT and NT are also valid on top of this cashback offer.

As of January 2024, the Atto 3 Standard starts at $48,011 before on-road costs. This comes with a smaller 50.1 kWh battery pack which can deliver up to 400 km of range.

The extended range model starts at 51,011 which bumps the range up to 480 km, thanks to its larger 60.4 kWh battery pack.

Both variants are powered by a single motor which drives the front wheels and produces 150 kW of power. This helps the Atto 3 sprint from 0-100 km/h in under 8 seconds, making it one of the zippier SUVs.

On the safety front, the Atto 3 comes with a five-star ANCAP safety rating, making it one of the few EVs at its price point to get the full five stars.

Either variant is available for delivery in weeks with the website estimating deliveries for new orders by February.

Interested buyers can order one via the brand’s website or visit a BYD Experience Centre.
