American EV start-up Rivian has surprised analysts, announcing this week delivery numbers that were above market expectations and confirming that it remains on target to deliver 52,000 vehicles by year’s end.
Rivian, maker of the R1T pickup truck/ute, R1S SUV, and Rivian EDV delivery vans, announced its production and delivery numbers this week. According to the California-based carmaker, the third quarter saw a total of 16,304 vehicles were produced at its manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois, while 15,564 vehicles were delivered to customers during the same period.
Delivery numbers were above market expectations, beating analysts estimates and increasing on its second quarter numbers – up 16.5% on production and 23% on deliveries.
Rivian said “it believes it is on track” to deliver on the previously upgraded guidance of 52,000 units for the year, helped by the easing of supply-chain bottlenecks.
Its full third quarter financial results are due to be announced on November 7.
