Uber has partnered with EVSE Australia to help provide Uber’s ride-sharing partners with affordable and accessible chargers as the number of EVs continues to grow on its leading ride-sharing platform.
As part of this partnership, Uber will offer discounts on EV home chargers to its driving partners to help make the transition to EVs more seamless.
Uber Australia and New Zealand general manager, Dom Taylor, said the partnership with EVSE Australia helps the ride-sharing giant to be a fully electric, zero-tailpipe emission ride-sharing platform by 2040:
“Sustainability shouldn’t be complicated; it should be effortless and we are constantly looking for ways to make it easier for driver-partners to embrace sustainable options, and affordable at-home EV charging is an important piece of that puzzle.”
Uber says it has doubled its EV fleet in 2023. It did not provide numbers.

Discounts and financing options form part of the benefits to Uber’s ride-sharing driver-partners if they are to install an EVSE Australia-supplied Ocular LTE Plus EV Charger.
Driver-partners have two options for purchasing the chargers with options as part of this partnership:
- Purchase Outright: Driver-partners can make a one-time upfront payment, enjoying a 20% discount on hardware and 10% off installation.
- Financing Option via Brighte: Driver-partners can purchase the EV Chargers from EVSE, via financing with Brighte, with a flexible >12-month term and a 0% interest rate.
On top of that, driver-partners will also receive a 10% discount on accessories. These include mobile chargers and other accessories to improve the overall charging experience while operating an EV on the popular Uber platform.
