Tesla last week began offering nearly $3,000 off the price of Australiaās best-selling EV, the Model Y, for in-stock vehicles. Now, on Teslaās website, Model 3 vehicles in a few parts of Australia are also showing up to $2,750 off the drive-away price.
At the time of writing, Model 3s in ACT, TAS and Victoria were available in various in-stock configurations, offering almost a 5% discount off the normal price.
Along with this offer, customers can also apply a current trade-in bonus of $2,000 to the vehicle if they are trading in an older vehicle as part of the new Model 3 purchase. The offer is valid until the end of 2026.
In Australia, Tesla offers the Model 3 in four variants, including Premium RWD, Premium RWD Long Range, an AWD Performance and the recently launched Model 3 RWD.
The new trimmed down Model 3 RWD starts at $45,900 before on-roads, making it the first Tesla to fall under the $50,000 mark.
It is also the first single-motor standard-range Tesla to get an official WLTP range of over 550 km, coming in at 572 km and making it the most efficient EV on the market.
Pricing for the Premium Model 3 range starts at $54,900 for the Model 3 Premium RWD and goes to $80,900 for the Performance variant, before on-road costs.
Tesla has already sold 41,705 EVs in the first 9 months, with the Model 3 making up 5,775 of those sales.
Thatās slightly above the 5,416 Model 3s the company sold in the first 9 months of 2025, which is understandable given the softness in the sedan market with buyers heading towards SUVs.
For comparison, BYDās Seal sedan has seen 3,808 sales, less than a fifth of BYDās Sealion 7 SUV, which has raked in almost 20,000 sales so far in 2026.
To help boost those sales, BYD is offering 6% off novated leases on the BYD Seal at the moment and joining Teslaās instock/trade-in offers, which are available to drivers today to get behind the wheel of an electric sedan.
