Now into it’s third year, the annual Global EV Driver Survey run by the Global EV Alliance (GEVA) has just been launched.
If by the way you’re wondering who GEVA are: their full title is the ‘Global Alliance of EV Drivers’ Associations‘. GEVA consists of over 70 member EV organisations, of which Australia, through the Australian Electric vehicle Association (AEVA) is a member.
These member organisations are brought together under the GEVA umbrella in order to:
- Represent the voice of EV drivers in policy discussions;
- Advocate for consumer protections for EV drivers;
- Share best practices from around the globe and
- Give EV information and inspiration.
Last year was the first in which Australian data was included as a separate listing, due to the number of Australian BEV drivers just crossing the minimum threshold required to do so.
The 2025 data (reported by The Driven here) was an interesting snapshot of both how the transition was progressing in different countries, as well as where we were at in comparison.
However, Australia’s data was rather coarse-grained due to the small number of participants (as noted above, we only just fell over the line for numbers to be counted separately from ‘rest of world’).
So now it’s up to you: If you’re an EV owner or driver, click on the link below to add your say. It would be great to see much richer data about Australian EV ownership and use reflected in this years’ GEVA survey.
