Chery, one of Australia’s fastest-growing brands, has announced the arrival of another new sub-brand, iCaur, which will offer EVs based on a “boxy” design language and targeted at so-called lifestyle buyers. It will head to our market in early 2027.
The announcement comes just months after Chery launched Lepas, a new sub-brand, with the announcement of the L6 electric SUV. The first ICaur, the V25, will be formally unveiled in coming months and will be its first electric SUV in this market.
iCaur says that the V25 has a “distinctive styling” which refers to the boxy looks and it continues its off-roadish theme both on the exterior and the interior.

The new brand was founded in 2023 and Its first model, the V23 EV, has seen its popularity grow in China and markets like Southeast Asia.
The rugged, retro, boxy off-road styling of the V23 is similar in size to a Suzuki Jimny and comes in at 4.22 metres in length.
On the powertrain front, it’s available in rear-wheel drive with 100 kW and 180 Nm. There is also an all-wheel drive AWD electric configuration too. This powertrain is fed by either a 60 kWh CATL LFP pack or a larger 82 kWh NMC pack with EV range of just over 400 km.
The arrival of iCaur brings another key sub-brand under the Chery umbrella, and the V25 will be on display at the Everything Electric show next month in Sydney between 18th – 20th September.
