Truck loads of the latest version of Xpeng’s mid-size family electric SUV, the tech-driven G6 have been spotted at the Port of Brisbane ahead of first customer deliveries of the new model.
On Xpeng owners group on Facebook, a photo was shared by Marc A, showing dozens of the 2026 Xpeng G6 EVs – which are priced from $51,800 – that have been unloaded from the ships and are soon setting off to dealerships for customer deliveries in the state.
One commenter suggested that a shipment of the new G6 had also reached Western Australia, with customers soon expected to receive theirs too: “Yep Fremantle just had there first lot off the ship too. Hopefully 🤞 will get mine soon”.
This new model has already hit showrooms in part of Australia after the relaunch of the brand last month.
The new G6 features an 800 V architecture and ultra-fast 5C charging, allowing the car to charge from 10-80% in just 12 minutes.
Coming in four variants, the G6 starts with the RWD Standard Range, which packs up to 480 km of range. There is also a Long Range variant with a bigger battery, and that bumps it up to 525 km of range.
The top-spec Performance variant has a dual-motor powertrain, with up to 510 km of range. This variant also gets a Black Edition, which adds aesthetic improvements, coming in at a price of $66,800 before on-road costs.
The battery in the variants is the larger 80.8-kWh Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) pack. This pack allows for max charging speeds of 451 kW at the right DC charger, which are not currently available publicly in Australia.
The G6 also features 6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, making it quite an attractive option for those that need power on the go at campsites or to power electrical equipment.
This new model features a few additional upgrades over the previous G6, including a new light bar at the front of the car, updated bumpers, a new light strip with a spoiler at the rear, new paint options after removing Orange from the lineup, new wheels, ambient lighting with an upgraded interior, a bigger centre-screen and more.
It is also slightly longer, with 5 mm added over the existing model, bringing the total length to 4,758 mm.
The Xpeng G6 also comes with a 7-year unlimited km warranty and an 8-year/160,000 battery warranty, making it fairly competitive with most other mid-size SUVs, though the 7-year warranty outdoes the Tesla Model Y and BYD Sealion 7.
