Japanese car giant Toyota has announced another major discount on its first EV in the electric market, having already shaved more than $10,000 off the asking price last year despite upgrading the specs on its battery, motor power, and range of the bZ4X.
Toyota has followed the price cut with the introduction of a $5,000 Deposit Bonus on the new and demo 2WD bZ4X, and a bonus of $7,500 on the AWD models built from October 2025 onwards – if and when financed through Toyota Finance.
According to Toyota, the finance application for the model must be received by 30 June 2026 and settled by 14 July 2026.
The revamped lineupās entry 2WD variant starts at $55,990 before on-roads, down from the original $66,000 price when it was launched in February 2024. The $5,000 deposit bonus will be applied to this price, accounting for another cut of nearly 10% when financed as part of this offer.

The AWD variant starts at $67,990 before on-roads, so a bonus $7,500 will represent a further cut of more than 10% off the price of that model when financed under this offer.
The bZ4X has been one of the best selling EV models in European countries such as Norway, where there is less competition from lower cost Chinese electric car makers. But in Australia it has struggled to get in the top 10 EV models because of that competition.

Both models of bZ4X come with a 77.4 kWh battery, which delivers a range of up to 591 km on the 2WD variant. The AWD variantās range is stated at 517 km on the WLTP cycle.
For charging, the new model features 22 kW AC charging across the range, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to full in under 3.5 hours.
DC fast charging speeds are also better than the first version, with rated specs of 150 kW at the right charging, helping the car charge from 10-80% in 30 minutes.
When it comes to the powertrain, the 2WD bZ4X sees its front motor deliver a power increase of 165 kW. The AWD version now delivers a combined power output of 252 kW.
The AWD variant also features an X-Mode off-road traction control system, downhill assist control, and vehicle stability control, helping improve traction and stability on Australian roads.
On the inside, there is a larger 14-inch screen, wireless phone chargers and a plug in the boot for vehicle-to-load (V2L) compatibility.Ā

The bZ4X comes in 5 colours, with Black as the standard colour, and optional colours that cost $595 include White, Liquid Mercury, Red, and Blue.
Private buyers of the new vehicle will receive either a 7 kW home charger (without installation) supplied by Jet Charge, or a Chargefox public charging voucher with 1 year or 625 kWh of charging loaded onto it. This is valid for customers who purchase the car until the end of 2026.Ā
With more buyers making the switch to electric vehicles than ever before, the latest offer from Toyota highlights that their EVs still need to be at a good price point for buyers to choose them over dozens of more affordable EVs from Chinese brands.Ā
