Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Xpeng has officially opened its first dealerships in the country, located in Auckland and Christchurch.

The opening came just days after Xpeng, which was founded in 2014, officially launched the refreshed G6 SUV in New Zealand, which is priced from $NZ59,990 for the entry-level model and rising to $NZ72,990 for the all-wheel-drive long range ‘Performance’ model.

The new dealerships mark the beginning of a larger nationwide rollout strategy, with more locations expected in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, and Tauranga.

“Opening our first dealerships has brought Xpeng’s smart AI-driven mobility vision to life for Kiwi drivers,” said Damian Royce, head of marketing for Xpeng New Zealand.

“New Zealand has shown strong enthusiasm for innovation and sustainability, and our new dealerships now give customers the opportunity to see, touch, and experience our technology firsthand. It’s been an exciting start to 2026, and just the beginning of our nationwide expansion.”
