South Korean brand, KGM (previously Ssangyong) earlier this month launched an electric ute for the Australian market and has now followed this up with the reveal ofĀ another EV, this time an electric SUV it calls the Torres EVX that is pitched below $60,000.

The Torres EVX will come in a single variant with a driveaway price of $58,000, pitching it in the same range asĀ the smaller Model Y, Xpeng G6 and the BYD Sealion 7, which have driveaway prices at or above $58,000.

Powering the Torres EVX is a 152 kW front-mounted motor that packs up to 339 Nm of torque.

This setup is fed by an 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. It can deliver up to 462 km on the WLTP cycle for the RWD variant. That’s with the energy consumption of 187 Wh/km.

This battery can be fast charged from 10-80% in 37 minutes, according to specs released for our market.

On the inside, multiple screens are on offer with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto availableĀ  as well.Ā

There’s also a panoramic sunroof too, providing a good amount of passenger space.

KGM is an acronym for KG Mobility, based in South Korea, and has recently been bringing in vehicles which were previously badged as Ssangyong in Australia.

The Torres EVX will come with a 7-Year unlimited kilometre warranty on the vehicle as well as a class-leading 10-year unlimited kilometre warranty on the battery pack.

It will arrive at selected KGM dealers shortly, with official sales beginning on 1 December 2025.

The launch of the KGM Torres EVX is good news for the brand in Australia, as it continues to build awareness in our market, this time with EVs in popular segments.

We look forward to test-driving this latest model along with the Musso EV Ute on our local roads to see how they both perform. For now, it’s exciting to see so much activity in EV model releases from dozens of brands in Australia.
