Karmo, the largest car subscription provider in Australia, is partnering with Jet Charge to provide electric vehicle (EV) chargers as an optional add-on for subscribers and offered at an exclusive partner price.
Under the deal, a home installed EV charger will now be offered as part of a Karmo EV car subscription at an “exclusive partner price” and as an optional add-on to the regular subscription price.
“This partnership is a huge step forward for electric mobility in Australia,” said Nick Boucher, CEO and co-founder of Karmo.
“We’re making it easier than ever for Australians to switch to EVs without the financial burden and complexity that has traditionally held people back.”
Karmo currently offers car subscriptions in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide, as a flexible alternative to the traditional methods of leasing a car, long-term car rentals, rent-to-own car plans, or the old-fashioned outright ownership.
Customers who subscribe to a car with Karmo only need to pay an all-inclusive weekly fee which includes everything from the car itself to vehicle registration, maintenance and servicing, roadside assistance, and insurance.
Jet Charge CEO Tim Washington says the agreement will help break down the barriers to EV adoption, and affordability.
“We’re making it easier for people to choose electric. The future of transport in Australia relies on smart infrastructure, accessible technology, and seamless user experiences. This partnership is another step toward making electric mobility the default, not the exception.”
According to the Jet Charge website, customers will be able to choose from two EV home chargers, the AC Lite and the Zappi. As part of the partnership, Karmo will supply the EV charging hardware and Jet Charge will take care of installation.
