Everything Electric in Sydney has been one of the biggest turnouts for EV brands, with many new models and offerings from recent brand arrivals on show.
One car that unexpectedly turned many heads was on display in a bright yellow trim, and had hundreds of people wanting to get in and out, even thought its release is yet to be confirmed for the Australian market. That was the Zeekr 007
The four-door sedan with a sloping roofline piqued attendees’ interest, who found the sedan quite eye-catching from the outside. The front of the car features Zeekr’s Stargate, which has hundreds of LED lights embedded into the bonnet design.
Opening the door was with the press of a button on the B pillar of the car which was quite unique amongst the cars on show. Once the button is pressed, the door presents itself, allowing the attendees to enter the driver and passenger seats.
Once inside, pressing the brake pedal would automatically close the door of the left-hand-drive sedan on display.
There is also a screen behind the sterling wheel and a large centre display for infotainment and car controls.
I spoke to a few people around the car about what they thought of the sedan, and many found the styling quite eye-catching. They wanted to know if I had heard about when it would be arriving in Australia.
It is yet to be confirmed if this model will add to the current local lineup, including the Zeekr X SUV and Zeekr 009 luxury people mover. Zeekr 7X, which the company also had on display, is expected to arrive in the second half of 2025.
Both the Zeekr 7X and the 007 feature Zeekr’s latest battery technology, based on the Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry. That’s known as the company’s Golden battery which can car charge the car from 10-80% in 10.5 minutes.
This battery has been seen to be testing at over 470 kW at Zeekr Power’s fast-charging stations, which are rated at up to 800 kW. Most ultra fast-charging stations in Australia are capped at up to 350 kW, so 800 kW is quite a step up.
The original Zeekr 007 was launched in early 2024 with a refresh that made it to the company’s showrooms by August of the same year, with prices starting at under $A45,000.
The upgraded 007 included updates to the autonomous driving package, which customers had access to by the fourth quarter of 2024.
Now, the company has also unveiled an update to the upgraded Zeekr 007, which it calls the Zeekr 007 GT – an even sleeker electric station wagon.
That model is currently undergoing winter testing, and according to the brand on Weibo, which was reshared by Thinkercar on X, it’s completed its final 1,800 km testing in the Arctic Circle.
The official market launch of that model is likely next month at the Shanghai Auto Show and is expected to head to Europe.

This could also mean a right-hand-drive 007 model could be heading our way in 2026.
With so much interest in the 007 at the Everything Electric show in Sydney, it’s a bit of a no-brainer for the company to consider bringing this or the more practical GT version to right-hand drive markets like Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and other EV export markets it operates in.
