Today, Chinese auto giant Geely opened its pre-orders for the EX5 electric SUV, its first model in the Australian market, while offering 3 years of free servicing and up to 1,000 kWh of free DC charging in the first year of ownership.
Two variants of the EX5 can be seen on the company’s online configurator, which includes the Inspire and Complete versions.

The pricing of the Geely EX5 is likely to be announced closer to its launch in Australia, but we expect it to be in the $45,000-$50,000 range.
The free charging offer of 1,000 kWh for the first year is through Evie Networks, who currently have 270 sites across Australia, and is offered to all pre-order holders
Meanwhile, complimentary servicing is available for those customers who purchase from Geely dealers by the end of February and take delivery by 30th April 2025.
From the equipment on offer, the Complete variant will be the entry-level option. At the same time, the top-spec Inspire variant includes a few more comfort and aesthetic features such as a heads-up display, massaging seats, panoramic sunroof, Flyme sound system and 19-inch alloys.
Some of the key specs of the EX5 model from its local website include a 430 km WLTP range, charging from 30-80% in 20 minutes and acceleration of 6.9 seconds.
The EX5 uses lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cells in its battery pack. These are Geely’s latest short Blade batteries with an energy density of 192 Wh/km, exceeding BYD’s current blade battery pack when it comes to energy density.
Powering the wheels is a 160 kW front-mounted motor that utilises an innovative 11-in-1 powertrain, making it compact and lightweight. This will improve the overall efficiency of the car when on the road.
On the inside, there are multiple new technologies for SUV buyers. These include a theatre-like sound system and advanced safety technology.
The large 15.4-inch infotainment screen is powered by an automotive-grade chip called the SE1000 which runs the software and systems inside the car. This chip has an 8-core CPU and 14-core GPU, which is more powerful than chips found in many other EVs today.
The top-spec Inspire variant also features a Flyme Auto that delivers a theatre-like experience thanks to the 16-speaker sound system, including speakers found in the headrests of the front seats.

No pricing of the model is revealed, and interested drivers can pre-order an EX5 without a deposit at this stage.
