Global car rental giant Europcar is to add 270 Hyundai Ioniq electric vehicles (EVs) to its rental locations across Australia in what it says is the biggest Australian EV deployment in its history.
The fleet will include  120 Ioniq 5 electric SUVs and 150 Ioniq 6 electric sedans. Both have won multiple car of the year awards. They will be available for traditional car rental periods, and also over one, three, six, or 12-month subscriptions through a myEuropcar subscription.

“Our research shows Australians are curious and willing to give EVs a go, and this placement will help break down some of the barriers that may be preventing them from making the switch,” said Benoit Garel, Europcar managing director (Australia and New Zealand).
This new partnership between Europcar and Hyundai may subsequently deliver an alternative route to entry for those considering the transition to an electric vehicle, or a Hyundai Ioniq 5 or 6 in particular.
