My partner Aaron Blacksell and I are looking to compete in the Finke Desert Race in 2025, in either an electric SUV or ute, or a Hybrid SUV or ute.

We have been competing in off road, rally, and Enduro events for most of our life, with great success, and a safety record second to none, including finishing at the top of our class in the 2023 Finke Desert Race.

We understand that companies don’t have large budgets to throw around in the automotive sector, and as such we are purely looking for a vehicle, with a very basic and minimal outlay to prep the car with the specified safety requirements.

We will be contesting the standard 4WD or 2WD class, with the focus being on competing without any fanfare, unless we win that class – therefore giving an importer the opportunity of great publicity if we succeed, but no bad publicity if we do not.

We have had all sorts of difficulty getting through the “corporate wall”, and cannot even find anyone in any sort of marketing position to talk to, let alone make any decision of any kind. A firm “No, we are not interested thanks very much” would be far better than the wall of silence “blank” that we have received to date!

Would any readers have any suggestions or advice at all? Your thoughts with regard to this would be most welcome, and I would greatly appreciate any input you may be able to provide to push forward our little project….

Regards,

Richard McNay from Macs Action Vehicles in Victoria.
