Earlier this month, Zeekr, an Australian-bound EV brand recently teased render images of another electric SUV called the 7X that is also bound for international markets.
Now photos of a pre-production model have surfaced for the first time showing what the car would look like when released. Pictures of a silver 7X was spotted in China and shared by EV analyst Thinkercar on X.
These showcase three angles of the car from the large front end which includes Stargate lighting system to the rear of the car which is angled, taking inspiration from its shooting brake sibling, Zeekr 001.
Looking closer at the rear of the car shows manufacturer plates hidden inside the rear window, indicating that it’s a pre-production vehicle used for road testing.
These photos have surfaced just over a fortnight after the company released renders of the upcoming 7X model.
Those rendered photos were also shared on Zeekr Australia’s LinkedIn page, with the caption “A new star is born,” hinting that the model could be on the cards for the Australian market.
That’s of course after the company launches its Zeekr X and 009 models in the coming months and comes only days after launching the company’s official website in Australia.
According to regulator findings, the upcoming Zeekr 7X will be 4,825 mm in length, making it longer than the Tesla Model Y.
Looking at the powertrain options, it will be available with a single rear-mounted motor, producing up to 310 kW of power. There are also dual-motor variants that produce up to an impressive 470 kW.
Top speeds were also sighted in the regulatory filings highlighting the 7X achieving speeds of up to 210 km/h.
The filings didn’t reveal the battery chemistry but if Zeekr’s 007 sedan is anything to go by, it’d be a combination of LFP and ternary Lithium batteries based on an 800-Volt architecture. This would allow for faster charging speeds at the right DC charger.
Zeekr is expected to launch its first model into the Australian market in September with plans to launch multiple models after that. This could very possibly include the 7X as it would target a larger, more popular segment of the market looking at mid-sized SUVs.
