Chinese electric car company Zeekr’s upcoming premium electric SUV has been spotted in Australia for the first time. The sighting of the right-hand drive EV was shared by Ludicrous Feed on X after a photo was taken by Bischoff.

The two-tone Zeekr X SUV was parked on a street in NSW, given the number plate of the vehicles in the background. Ā It also appeared to have just been delivered as the car didn’t have any number plates at the time of the sighting.

From the outside, the sleek design of the new SUV is easy to see. The door handles also look flush with the doors themselves, helping improve the aesthetics of the car while improving efficiency.

A shot of the interior was also taken with the steering wheel on the right-hand side of the car. Interior colours in the shot show a two-tone colour scheme.

The steering wheel is wrapped in blue and creme tones, giving it a unique premium look. There is also a screen behind the steering wheel which will display key driving information, and aĀ large horizontal screen that is likely to display infotainment functionality along with vehicle control settings.

The sighting of the right-hand-drive variant excited a few EV enthusiasts with one saying: ā€œRHD too!ā€.

Zeekr is Geely Holding Group’s premium EV brand and the Zeekr X is one of its small SUV offerings which is expected to be launched in the coming months.

The Zeekr X was originally unveiled last year with the brand dubbing it one of the fastest small premium SUVs on the market.

In recent weeks, the Zeekr X has received EuroNCAP’s 5-star safety rating which is likely to be carried over to Australian-delivered vehicles.

Zeekr’s X also received 5 stars in Green NCAP, making it one of the most sustainable vehicles in Europe.

The Zeekr X is already Europe-bound with vehicles in Germany getting a starting price of €44,990 which is competitive on the pricing front with the Tesla Model Y in that market.

Local specifications and details are expected to be announced in the coming months ahead of the model’s official local launch.
