Last week, BYD announced the 2024 version of its popular Atto 3 electric SUV, along with a significant price cut for both its variants. The new car features several visual and feature upgrades which many customers have been waiting for.

Now, one of the first order holders of this new model has shared that their EV is only weeks away from delivery.

Nicole E shared on a BYD EV owner’s Facebook page that the ordered car was around the corner with deliveries to occur in 2-3 weeks; ā€œJust ordered a new Atto 3. Apparently it’s only 2-3 week wait,ā€.

Another prospective owner asked if there were any in the showroom and Nicole E responded by saying that the first of the new models are in the process of being unloaded.

This also indicates that dealer showroom display cars and test drives are likely to also follow shortly.

The new Atto 3 starts at $44,499 for the Standard variant with a 50 kWh BYD Blade battery pack, which is down from $48,011 before on-road costs. This will deliver up to 420 km of NEDC range or 345 km on the WLTP cycle.

The Extended range variant has a larger 60 kWh battery pack and a range of up to 480 km on the NEDC cycle, and it now starts at $47,499.

Several key changes have been made to the already popular electric SUV which include:

  • New black paint colour (removes green and red paints from lineup)
  • The rear fish scale pattern panels are now in black (previously silver)
  • Rear ā€œBYDā€ badge (previously ā€œBuild Your Dreamsā€)
  • Continental Eco Contact 6 tyres
  • Larger new 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen

All of these will be well received by new owners as these cars make it to local roads in the coming weeks.

The BYD Atto 3 has been one of the most popular EVs in the market. It regularly makes it in the top 5 EV sales ranks.

Over the last 18 months, BYD has delivered over 14,000 of the Atto 3 SUVs to customers which is a great milestone for one of the newest brands in the market.

With the new BYD Atto 3 only weeks away, we look forward to testing it and seeing how it stacks up to the already feature-packed previous model.
